Wahroonga - CBP 2026
Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Wahroonga
Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Wahroonga. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.
The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2026 CBP funding in the electoral district of Wahroonga.
Electoral District Priorities
The electorate is a highly educated community with a significant proportion of families who value education opportunities for their children as well as sporting, cultural and recreation activities. The area also has a large senior population. There is a high level of volunteerism with voluntary activity including schools, sports, scouts and guides, Meals on Wheels and other services for aged and disabled residents.
The area is diverse, with some social housing and different socio-economic and cultural composition. There is a significant representation from Chinese and South Asian communities alongside a strong English-speaking majority. Key priorities include
- Enhanced learning facilities through schools and preschools that go above what is supplied by the NSW Government,
- Investment in community organisations that assist with social cohesion, such as sporting clubs, P&C Associations, Scouts and Guides, community charities, musical societies, religious and multicultural organisations, transport, healthy lifestyle to help new residents feel connected, and existing residents feel supported,
- Projects that can support services to engage our youth including lighting for recreation and sporting facilities, and upgrades to community halls,
- Assist with volunteering in the community,
- Geographical sharing of grants is important to ensure fairness across the new electorate after the redistribution in 2023.
