Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Sydney

Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Sydney. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.

The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2026 CBP funding in the electoral district of Sydney.

Electoral District Priorities

Our Electorate is characterised by comparatively high-end apartment building where the tenants are predominantly young, highly paid professionals who frequently move in and out, resulting in high incomes and high mobility, but low percentages of children and very compact living arrangements.

Multiple agencies and organisations provide for the most vulnerable. The City of Sydney recorded the highest number of people sleeping rough during the 2025 street count with 346 people, a 24 per cent increase compared to February 2024. The Electorate has 1445 public housing dwellings. The Electorate is also the location of many LGBTIQA+ people, organisations and services and the highest number of persons in a same-sex couple in the same household in NSW.

Priorities for CBP grant funding include organisations and projects that provide infrastructure upgrades, services and goods to:

  • the homeless and those at risk of homelessness, especially non-residents
  • First Nations people
  • the LGBTIQA+ community
  • bettering mental health
  • social housing tenants
