Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Strathfield

Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Strathfield. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.

The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2026 CBP funding in the electoral district of Strathfield.

Electoral District Priorities

Our Electorate has a large and growing population and it is densely populated, with a very high proportion of residents living in apartments. With more than 50% of residents born overseas and more than 60% of residents speaking a language other than English at home, it is also one of the most culturally diverse communities in NSW. Almost half of our households include children, and the electorate has a very high proportion of young people in the 15-24 year age group. Accordingly, our priorities for CBP funding in 2026 include:

  • Projects that support our overseas-born communities, these could include services which support language classes or provide culturally safe meeting places and projects which enhance social cohesion and mutual respect
  • Projects which support our religious diversity and the community outreach services offered by our faith communities
  • Projects which support young people’s physical and mental wellbeing and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle, these could include sporting facilities, enhanced learning and play facilities, before and after school facilities, and infrastructure that supports youth organisations
  • Projects which upgrade or expand community infrastructure to meet the needs of a rapidly increasing population, including expanded provision of green and open spaces, cycle and walking paths
