Shellharbour - CBP 2026

This round will open at 9:00AM 20 April 2026 (AEST) for submissions.

Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Shellharbour

Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Shellharbour. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.

The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2026 CBP funding in the electoral district of Shellharbour.

Electoral District Priorities

The electorate is effectively divided into two distinct areas, an eastern and a western region, separated by Lake Illawarra. The western area is experiencing rapid population growth, particularly among young families and former Sydney residents.

The electorate is culturally diverse, with a wide range of ethnic communities and socio-economic groups.

Numerous NGOs operate locally, including women’s organisations, food banks, and social service providers.

Despite this diversity, community cohesion is strengthened through strong participation in local sporting organisations. The Shellharbour electorate is served by two councils responsible for public infrastructure, such as parks, and for delivering key community services.

My priorities for the CBP are:

  • Increasing female participation across all sporting codes.
  • Improving the quality of sporting infrastructure and upgrading aging facilities.
  • Supporting and promoting the local arts community.
  • Ensuring proper access to required services for people with disabilities, special needs and our aging population
  • Access to all types of public transport as it is a current issue
  • Delivering high-quality learning environments in schools and ensuring timely maintenance.
  • Assisting councils in achieving their strategic planning objectives.
  • Supporting local charities and community groups within the electorate
