Port Stephens - CBP 2026
Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Port Stephens
Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Port Stephens. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.
The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2026 CBP funding in the electoral district of Port Stephens.
Electoral District Priorities
The Port Stephens Electorate includes coastal villages, established and emerging suburbs and rural communities, all experiencing increasing pressure on local facilities and services. With strong population growth, many young families, and a significant number of retirees and older residents, our community relies heavily on accessible and inclusive infrastructure.
CBP funding priorities for Port Stephens:
- Sport and recreation infrastructure that promotes active, healthy lifestyles, including upgrades to playing fields, courts, lighting and shared community sporting spaces.
- Education-focused facilities, such as enhanced learning and recreational spaces in schools, as well as improvements to preschools, childcare centres, and before- and after-school care services.
- Inclusive and accessible community spaces that meet the needs of people of all ages and abilities.
- Support for organisations that support our community, including infrastructure for volunteer groups, youth organisations, cultural groups and local service providers
- Projects that strengthen resilience to natural disasters, particularly repairs and upgrades to facilities impacted by storms, flooding and other severe weather events.
- A fair geographic distribution of funding, with consideration for projects of merit that were unsuccessful in previous rounds and strong support for organisations that are locally run and operated.
