Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Penrith

Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Penrith. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.

The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2026 CBP funding in the electoral district of Penrith.

Electoral District Priorities

The Penrith electorate has clear priorities for the CBP program, focusing on projects that strengthen community cohesion, resilience, and access to essential services. Key emphasis is placed on infrastructure that supports multicultural communities, providing welcoming spaces where diverse groups can access programs, celebrate culture, and participate fully in community life.

Promoting active and healthy lifestyles is a major priority. Investments in sporting communities—such as improvements to local clubs, playing fields, courts, and amenities—help increase participation and support volunteers who sustain grassroots sport.

Schools also play a central role in community life; projects that enhance school facilities, including outdoor learning areas, halls, and shared-use spaces, deliver broad benefits for social support, students and local families.

Youth engagement continues to be a core focus, supporting infrastructure that offers safe, inclusive spaces for learning, recreation, creativity, and skill development.

Growing climate pressures mean Penrith is also prioritising projects that increase heat resilience, including shade structures, cooling upgrades, green infrastructure, and energy-efficient improvements. Collectively, these priorities aim to build a more inclusive, healthy, active, and climate-ready Penrith community.
