Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Orange

Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Orange. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.

The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2026 CBP funding in the electoral district of Orange.

Electoral District Priorities

Orange is a large and diverse regional electorate encompassing Orange, Forbes, Parkes, and Cabonne Local Government Areas. It includes major regional centres alongside smaller rural communities, such as Eugowra, Molong and Trundle, that face challenges associated with distance, access to services, ageing infrastructure and population change.

Parts experience socio-economic disadvantage, an ageing demographic, workforce pressures and limited transport options. We are also regularly impacted by natural hazards including flooding, bushfires, drought and extreme heat.

Electorate priorities for funding include projects that strengthen, upgrade or expand community infrastructure used by residents, volunteers and not-for-profit organisations. This incorporates facilities that support community connection, service delivery, emergency response, cultural activities and social inclusion across the life cycle of the project.

Projects that promote active and healthy lifestyles are a strong priority, including sporting and recreation facilities, open space improvements, lighting, changerooms and inclusive play and exercise infrastructure.

Support for youth engagement, learning, training and safe community spaces is also essential. Investment in infrastructure that improves accessibility, supports people with disability, enhances community transport and builds resilience to climate impacts and natural disasters is a key priority across the electorate.
