Charlestown - CBP 2026
Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Charlestown
Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Charlestown. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.
The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2026 CBP funding in the electoral district of Charlestown.
Electoral District Priorities
The Charlestown Electorate is home to a diverse and growing community, with a balanced mix of young families and older residents, a growing multicultural population, and an increasing number of individuals who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. As our community changes, we want to ensure equitable access to safe, modern and inclusive facilities. Our priorities for CBP funding include:
- Accessibility upgrades that improve safety, mobility and inclusion for all community members, including older people and those with disability or access needs.
- Infrastructure that supports multicultural communities, youth groups, cultural groups, and meeting places for families, including yarning circles and gathering spaces.
- Sporting and recreation infrastructure, such as lighting, equipment and facility upgrades that promote active and healthy lifestyles across all ages.
- Infrastructure and equipment that supports youth organisations, enabling programs and activities that build confidence, connection and development for young people.
- Health and safety projects, including defibrillators, sun safety measures and upgrades that improve community wellbeing. • Improvements to community halls, clubhouses and shared facilities that enable flexible use by a wide variety of local groups.
- Upgrades to places of worship and culturally significant spaces that strengthen community identity, connection and support
