Balmain - CBP 2026

This round will open at 9:00AM 20 April 2026 (AEST) for submissions.

Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2026 Grant Program - Balmain

Welcome to the CBP 2026 Program for the Electoral District of Balmain. This program provides an opportunity for local community organisations and councils to strengthen the wellbeing of NSW communities through small local infrastructure projects.

The local Member of Parliament (MP) has prepared the below summary of the electoral district priorities to provide guidance to applicants considering lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for CBP funding in the electoral district of Balmain.

Electoral District Priorities

Balmain is the fourth most densely populated electorate in NSW. It is home to many wealthy households, being the 4th ranked for households earning over $3000 per week. We also have many residents on low and very low incomes living in public housing. Almost half of the electorate is renting.

Maintaining equal access to high quality shared spaces and community facilities is an ongoing challenge.

We are lucky to be home to a diverse range of organisations and wonderful local groups formed through organised community action, including some of the state’s longest running youth services, community women’s health organisations, P&Cs, sporting clubs, environmental groups, arts and cultural organisations, disability services, groups for older people and many more.

Priorities for funding in Balmain include projects that:

  • address entrenched inequality across our neighbourhoods,
  • promote inclusion and enhance accessibility of services and facilities,
  • help our community to be more sustainable and move away from fossil fuels,
  • revitalise and utilise ageing places and spaces,
  • upgrade indoor and outdoor learning spaces within ageing public school facilities
  • reflect and represent the diverse range of needs in our community, and
  • allow funding to be allocated across the electorate
